What a night!
Jun. 18th, 2004 12:51 pmLast night, I went to the Kennedy Center with EGN and
todc to see a tribute to Irving Berlin titled "There's No Business Like Show Business" performed by the National Symphony Orchestra, the Washington Men's Camerata and the Washington Women's Chorus.
I'm glad that I wore a tie for the occasion; Tod has definite ideas about what is appropriate attire for an evening at the Kennedy Center, and the teenaged girls wearing short skirts, flip-flops and showing off their navels didn't earn his respect. Tod and I have similar opinions in this matter. After all, I wore a tie, didn't I? :-)
The show was fabulous and I had a great time hanging out with two sexy men. I recently purchased the original cast recording of Annie Get Your Gun, so I was a little underwhelmed by the soloist's rendition of "You Can't Get A Man With A Gun."
Afterwards, we met up with JH, who is a member of the Washington Men's Camerata, and headed off to Cafe Luna near DuPont Circle. It was a very pleasant dinner. Tod and JH hit it off rather well, I thought. I managed to keep my dinner bill under $10, keeping my current finances in mind. Tod and EGN had the pasta special, which had a medley of different seafood, which they ordered over spinach fettucine. I forget what the sauce was, but it looked wonderful!
After dinner, EGN drove me home. We talked for a while in the car, then I sort of dozed for a bit until we were approaching Baltimore. After a quick smooch, I hopped out of the car, stumbled into my apartment and went to bed. Zzzzzzz.
