Today has been pretty laid-back. The entire morning was sleeping late, reading the news in bed, self-gratification, and showering. Pretty much perfect, in other words. It would be more perfect to wake up with a man and do all of that, but that's neither here nor now.

I did manage, however, to get dressed and step outside into the bright, bright snow-covered city to fetch some fixings for lunch from the local grocery store. I had to wear my sunglasses. Did I mention it was bright?

Now I'm sitting back after having prepared and consumed my lunch and washed up the lunch dishes. (Yay!) I'm going to take my pills and chill out until Louie comes by to whisk me away to bowling.

[livejournal.com profile] kenny73 gave me a collection of different cookies covered in a variety of Belgian chocolate. I was intending to share these with my square dance group when it's my turn to supply the refreshments, but I've torpedoed that notion. They're delicious, and they're all for me! I suppose I'll share them with my guests, but they'll have to give me good cause. ;-)

There's an HIV support group meeting tonight, but I think I'll skip that and call Kirk. I was supposed to tromp up to his apartment this morning to help him move his DVD player, but that didn't happen. I hope I can make it up to him this evening, then come home to make some dinner.

Before I started this journal in June 2004, I had a profile up on Positive Personals, a dating site for people with HIV. I had become disillusioned with online dating, but the idea of a site specifically for positive people was intriguing.

I got an email from a guy named Bill, and we exchanged a couple of notes but he lives in Norfolk, VA and we never got together.

This morning I was browsing through my journal entries and read one that was based on one of my emails to him. Suddenly I realized that I had never seen his profile! Positive Personals doesn't include a link to the person emailing you, so it never occurred to me that he'd have one as well.

So I searched the site for guys looking for other guys in Norfolk, and I found his entry. Wow! He's beautiful! My jaw dropped and I just sat there in my chair staring. Sexy, sexy, sexy!

Then I read his profile, and he seemed even more wonderful! I'm so sorry that I didn't realize last year that he had a profile as well!

It's a damn shame I can't get myself to Norfolk on a regular basis. :-(

I did drop him another note to check up on him. It never hurts to keep the lines of communication open. :-9

Thanks to Google, I know his phone number and address. Two hundred and fifty miles away isn't that far, is it? :-)

My evening

Bowling was more fun than usual today because I got to bowl! David E.'s team had an absent bowler, and David asked me if I'd like to substitute. I readily agreed and scampered off to get some shoes.

Oddly enough, his team was bowling against my team! That's okay, because I really didn't bowl that well. I had flashes of competence, but what really killed me was the tenth frame of each game. For those that don't know, you get up to three balls in the tenth frame. You can knock down up to thirty pins, and the points total more than that.

My first game I got three pins in the tenth frame. Ditto for the second game. The third game was an improvement; I got five pins. Arrgh!

Because we play on a handicap league, the team actually got more pins with me playing, because the team with the lower average gets a few pins to make it a little more even. My average was lower than the missing bowler, so that's good. I think. :-\

I hung out with Louie while he pre-bowled for an upcoming date, then he drove me home where I took a short nap before walking up to Kirk's apartment. We got his DVD player moved, but not connected. He's got two televisions; one has no picture and the other has no sound. Bleah.

On the stalking front, Bill replied to my email and asked for a picture. I referred him to my yahoo profile that includes pictures, but I also referred him here so he could see the "what the hell am I wearing?" leather picture. I did tell him that the stalking comments were meant in jest. :-)

Whoops! According to the Wikipedia article on ten-pin bowling, you can score up to thirty points in the tenth frame.

Whatever.
