Thursday Night
Feb. 18th, 2005 03:06 pmI had a date with Bob S. last night in DC. I arrived at his apartment about fifteen minutes before I was supposed to and met him in the elevator. :-)
The cleaning ladies were in the apartment when we arrived, so he spent a few minutes giving them instructions, then the two of us retired to the guest bedroom for a brief nap. Actually, I didn't nap, but he did. I just laid there in his arms, enjoying the moment. When he awakened, we snuggled for a little while.
We had plans to go see Hotel Rwanda at 7:30 p.m. or something like that, so we hopped up out of bed. He prepared a quick dinner for himself; he offered to make something for me, but I wasn't hungry at all -- I visited an Indian buffet for lunch, and that stuff stays with me for a while.
The movie was excellent. It was horrifying. Bob and I were both stunned; our walk back to his apartment was mostly silent, with the occasional subdued comment. I had my hand with his in his jacket pocket as we walked, which was comforting. I'm glad that I saw the movie with him. I don't think I'd want to watch it alone. I made that mistake with Angels in America.
We had some tea and talked a little more, then went to bed for a while before he bid me good night and retired to his own bed.
I have the day off today, since I thought that I might wake up in DC with the prospect of returning to Baltimore, packing and returning to DC for the square dance weekend. Trying to work as well would have complicated matters. I'm going to take a little nap, then pack my bags.
