Recovery!

It's so wonderful to be walking around again. I've still got a nagging cough, but all of my other symptoms have gone away. I haven't been writing, but I haven't been doing anything but sleeping and watching television. I've been working a little bit, but it's been hard to concentrate.

I spent the weekend house sitting for [livejournal.com profile] heterodoxy and [livejournal.com profile] todc while they were down in New Orleans. Tod was running in the Mardi Gras Marathon on Sunday, and they stayed until Tuesday to enjoy themselves. I made sure that Lucy and Edwina got fed and cherry-picked episodes of Deep Space Nine on their HDTV. :-)

Note to self: Dominos pizza sucks. How many times do you have to learn this lesson?

Today I stopped in at the client's office in DC to install changes to their database system. It's fun to see them actually excited about new features -- this time it's the ability to find duplicate records with just a couple of clicks. Robyn's working from home, but my client told me that I can continue to hang out here today.

Dancing was cancelled on Monday and I skipped dancing last night -- I didn't want to over tax myself, considering that I have C2 class tonight. I might be going to the theatre on Thursday to see "Good Night Gracie." Friday is Enterprise with Russell, Saturday is the Suede concert that I've been looking forward to, Sunday is bowling (the first time in a month for me).

I get my blood drawn on Monday for the latest HIV tests.

So I didn't go to C2 class after all. My Baltimore crew all stayed home, and my alternate ride is with his mother in the hospital, so I just went home. I took a little bit of a nap and then watched tonight's episode of Lost, which was just great. Then I took myself out to dinner at the Mt. Vernon Stable. Wednesday is Prime Rib night, and I ordered their last cut, which was pretty tasty. I sat there and enjoyed the meal while reading my latest book, "A Handbook For The Soul," which is a collection of essays on "ways to understand and nurture your spiritual side in today's fast-paced world."

Earlier this evening, I called Tom D., the man I met at last month's HIV social, to check up on him. That was the weekend of the square dance fly-in in DC, where I'm sure that I picked up my flu bug. One of the callers went to the emergency room with the flu while I was chatting up Tom, in fact. Another one started feeling sick the next day. So I was calling Tom to see if I had infected him.

Happily, no, I didn't. He called back while I was enjoying a cup of hot chocolate after my meal. Then we made another date! We actually already had a date scheduled, but we pushed up the day. :-)

I had a good meal, a wonderful server (named Morgana -- how cool is that?), a nice cup of hot chocolate and a nice phone call from a sexy sweet man. It's been a wonderful evening!
