This and that
Mar. 10th, 2005 11:19 amRussell just called me to say that he's made progress someplace in the past couple of weeks. He said that he can go hours or even days without thinking about me. He still misses me from time to time, but things are getting better.
In other news, I emailed Suede about the impact her performance of "And So It Goes" had on Russell and me and gave her a link to the entry in my journal. There was a long line of folks waiting for an autograph after the concert, so I got my autograph, said hello, and decided to email her rather than take up too much of her time.
Well, her reply says that I should have introduced myself as "the Steve with the online journal." :-) So when Russell called today, I asked if he was still planning on going to see her again in April. He said yes, but he doesn't have a spare ticket. If one of his group can't make it, I can have his ticket and collect my hug from Suede.
I'm working from home again today. My boss had some satellite broadband installed yesterday and he was eager to do some video conferencing today, but that's been a complete bust. Even the audio conferencing is on the blink, so we're making do with text chat to keep in communication.
The idea was that we'd keep in close contact throughout the day with video conferencing, allowing us to work from home more often and lessen the need for office space. I'm not really keen on that idea -- I'd rather have an office, but it's better than working out of internet cafes.
For that reason, I hope that he can get that thing working.
