So, it's nearly Thursday. Time to jot down some thoughts about my weekend, right?
Saturday, I was planning to take the train into DC to attend a Poz Social in the evening, but I was wavering. Then
legalmoose pinged me on my phone to see if I wanted to watch the Battlestar Galactica season opener that he had cached on the TiVo. I accepted his invitation and ended up watching BSG, all three hours of the Star Wars Clone Wars cartoons and an Episode of Brini Maxwell to top it all off.
lioncub came home and immediately cracked open his new copy of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, but set it down to watch Brini with us. :-)
The party was fun; I met lots of new guys (almost two dozen!) and everybody was pleasant. I had come prepared for a roof-top pool party, but the evening thunderstorm ruled that out. Still, I managed to get a gander at the city skyline from the roof before the storm.
I honestly wonder how I would test on a MBTI now; my extrovert skills are becoming second nature when roaming around a party. Somebody (was it at this party?) suggested that I should consider work as a lobbyist (ew!) or fundraiser, because I seem to meet people easily and retain their names. I've taken an MBTI once, years ago, and tested rather high on the introvert scale. I'm certain that would be lower now.
The low point of Saturday was hanging around in the train station to catch the 3 a.m. train back to Baltimore, but it's not that great an inconvenience. I had my iPod and a book to read.
Sunday, I took the train back to DC to attend Doug M.'s fortieth birthday bash. Jeff M. met me at the train station and drove us to the party. As always, Doug had many, many guests (
legalmoose was there!) and the party spilled out into the courtyard behind his home, where he was grilling and had tables set up for the food people contributed. I didn't have much of an appetite, having already eaten, but I did sample a little bit.
Later on, when the muggles had left,
redhotmuslbear and I made a spectacle of ourselves by mauling each other on the living room floor for a long while. No derogatory comments from the audience, so no big deal. It's not like I'm trying to maintain a snow-white reputation. It started with David rubbing my legs and feet and Kelly standing next to me, stroking my face and hair, which lulled me into a pleasantly relaxed state. David's a great kisser, which is a big turn-on for me, and he has absolutely beautiful eyes. ;-)
Jeff M. returned later in the evening and the two of us got a ride back to his house from Ward. I spent the night with Jeff and left Monday morning for home, arriving in time to start my work day on time.
