I'm personally against abortion, but I support a woman's right to control her own body. Above all, I support providing our children with all the information and tools that they need to prevent unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases, which I hope would reduce the need for any woman to make this kind of decision.
I don't have a lot of patience for people who decry abortion and yet refuse to allow men and women the tools they need to prevent pregnancy. I believe that — in a perfect world — a fetus should be carried to term, but I don't have a lot of feeling for an egg that can't attach to the uterus because you took a morning-after pill.
I also believe that this isn't a man's decision. It's a woman's decision, and it always has been. Women have been using abortion techniques for centuries.
Finally, I can't remember where I saw it, but somebody once said that they supported abortion up until the point that the child can argue persuasively in its own defense. I got a chuckle out of that, sick as it is. Imagine it:
"But mommy, I love you!"
"Hm. Nope, not persuasive enough. Drink your Kool-Aid."
