Product Placement
Sep. 13th, 2005 11:58 amFor the first time, I noticed billboard advertisements for HIV medication in the tunnel leading from the Forest Glen metro station to the parking lot. There were several of the same advertisement.
Are these ads showing up in other metro stations? Are there enough people in DC with HIV that advertising your product this way will pay off?
I'm reminded of the time when I first saw an advertisement with a web site address. There's a feeling that something has shifted. Back then, I thought it was cool. Now, I find it a little troubling and weird.
Update: it just occurred to me that perhaps they're advertising to doctors more than patients. That begins to make a little more sense.
