Ouch.

I managed to miss a step last night before going to bed and twisted my ankle. Everybody else in the house was already in bed, so I went to bed without any treatment. My mom roused me at 7 a.m. so we could all go hit the after Christmas sales, but I had to stay home and rest my ankle. Mom and Dad came back with an ACE bandage in just a few minutes, so I've had it wrapped all day when I haven't been icing it. I've also been resting with my leg slung over the back of the couch to keep it elevated.

My mom thinks that the swelling has started to go down. We'll see how much use I can get out of it Wednesday morning when I have to fly back to Baltimore. I'm not looking forward to that, although I can probably use it to get early boarding on the plane.

Stephen's ankle injury

Here's a photo of my ankle, hosted on my mom's new Flickr account (I've already maxed mine out for the month). She and I had a nice time yesterday while I gave her a tour of the service. She spent about an hour just reviewing all the pictures of butterflies that she found there. She's also uploaded some pictures of my nephew, but those are just for the family.

But here are some pictures of my mom and dad that they took when visiting a butterfly exhibit:

When the butterfly exhibit was in Washington, DC and they were living in West Virginia, I encouraged them to go visit it, but they let that opportunity pass them by. I'm glad they got a chance to visit a similar exhibit.
