Lazy Saturday
Apr. 15th, 2006 04:56 pmThe latest firmware update for the PlayStation Portable offered RSS feeds as a new feature, which sounded very cool. I thought that I would be able to tap into the feeds from my favorite news sites (or LiveJournal!) and avoid having to navigate their web pages.
Alas, I couldn't get any of the feeds to work. None of them were supported by the PSP. I finally figured it out this morning: the PSP only supports audio rss feeds — podcasts.
I'm disappointed that I can't get my news feeds, but I started browsing around the web, looking for podcasts for the first time. I've been seeking out music podcasts so far, and I'm impressed with the wealth of music out there. It makes we want to run out to buy a CD, but I doubt that I would find Husky Rescue or Daara J downtown at the Best Buy.
I got home last night from my week in DC. I spoke to Jim briefly; he said that it didn't look like I stayed in the house at all. I'm glad that my efforts to tidy up weren't wasted. :-)
I'm now resolved to use up the food that I have stored in my freezer. I'm not very good at that. So last night I experimented with some cauliflower in cheese sauce frozen in a boiling bag. I sauteed some onion and garlic in butter, then prepared the cauliflower and blended all of it with a little chicken broth. I called the result "soup" and ate it with a slice of garlic toast, also from my freezer.
I haven't accomplished anything today but playing with my PSP and lunch with Russell. I'm going to hang out with Jeffrey this evening. Tomorrow I'll have to prepare some lunches for the week. I'm planning to make a chicken curry.
