I'm leaving on a jet plane
Jun. 29th, 2006 09:36 amWell, I'm all packed up for my flight to California for the annual convention of the IAGSDC. I've managed to pack very well -- I only have two small bags, suitable for carrying on the plane. I'm very pleased with myself.
I had dinner with Michael D. and Russell last night. I wanted to spend a little time with Russell -- he's not going to the convention this year and I'll be going directly to DC after I return because I'm house sitting for Jim for a few days. After that, there's one night in Baltimore and then I'll be house sitting for Dayle. Then I'm house sitting for Jim again. I won't be back home again until July 18, and Russell is leaving for Toronto July 19 and won't be back until August. So making time to spend together is important.
My flight leaves today at 12:45 p.m. from BWI and I arrive at LAX at 5:25 p.m. with a stop in Chicago for about an hour and a half. I planned to leave today because I thought the trail-in dance was tonight, but Michael told me that it won't be until tomorrow night. I'll have to figure out how I'm going to amuse myself tonight and tomorrow. :-\
This will be the first time in three years that I've managed to attend a convention, after an unbroken streak of twelve years. I am so looking forward to this!
