Comings and goings
Jul. 9th, 2006 11:22 amThursday evening with Jeffrey was nice, as always. He whipped up something with a Thai curry, a hot and sour soup and some other stuff for dinner and we watched the final two episodes from the first season of Curb Your Enthusiasm and one episode of Seinfeld.
Friday morning, I had to get up earlier than usual to meet Dayle at the BWI rail station. This was the only time that we could find to squeeze in a tour of his house so he could give me instructions while I'm house sitting. So that meant that I had to get up at 5:30 a.m. to catch a 6:30 a.m. train from Baltimore.
Friday evening, I hooked up with Eric and spent Friday night, Saturday and Saturday night with him. We had dinner Friday night at the Austin Grill in Silver Spring before going back to his place, where we went to bed early. We slept late, then took the Metro into DC to see Bellini, Giorgione, Titian, and the Renaissance of Venetian Painting at the National Gallery of Art. Then we lunched at returned to Silver Spring, where we did a little grocery shopping and relaxed for the rest of the day. We watched a movie, Beijing Bicycle or something like that, but we didn't enjoy it all that much.
This morning, Eric left for church at about 7:00 a.m. I was out the door shortly afterward to catch a bus to the Metro so I could catch a train to the BWI rail station. Once there, I made my way to the rental car facility to pick up my car for the time that I'm living in Dayle's house in Columbia. There's no easy way to get around out here without a car.
And that's where I am now -- at Dayle's home. Kaedon, their dog, was a little leery of me at first, but he was my best friend within minutes, especially after I let him out to pee.
So now I have a new base of operations for the next few days, then I'll be house sitting for Jim in DC again.
