Dec. 30th, 2014 01:29 pmToday, we have invited people to come into the office and try some of our prototype games. The invitation was for 10 am, and we had a group of five kids and a chaperone lined up outside our door at the appointed hour.
I've come to really enjoy having kids come into the office. They're so excited to be visiting a game studio and they make great testers. After they reviewed the prototypes, they spent a little bit of time with me and then some more time with the art department.
I told Dayle that my current prototype wasn't ready for beta yet, but it was already installed on some of the test devices, so it got reviewed anyway. I was surprised that it was the game that the kids seemed most excited by. :-)
Other than that, it's been a slow day. Dayle and I played two sets of Race For The Galaxy -- three games with our usual deck, and then four games with the new expansion that Dayle got for Christmas, which was a lot of fun. I'm sure we'll continue playing that for a while.
