Payday!

Yesterday, my boss gave me two checks -- one for $146.99 to close out my first pay period that ended May 31 and another for $971.85 which settles the period ending June 15.

These checks will keep my head above water a little while longer. :-)

When I started this job, he asked me to research Object Oriented Programming (OOP) in PHP because a potential client wanted those skills. Now he tells me that my code looks like a foreign language to him -- in a good way. It's interesting to have this expertise after a month and a half that my boss doesn't share after coding in PHP for years. I've been teaching him and my coworker what I've learned.

Speaking of my coworker, she has given her two weeks notice, although she said she'll continue working if we can land her a long-term project. If my project is completed in the next two weeks and we manage to get a new contract with this client, she's the one who will be working on it. She's a wonderful woman with lots more experience than I, so the boss wants very much to keep her happy.

I did end up going to the nude party last night and had a very good time.

The party was about a 15 or 20 minute walk from the Anacostia Metro station. I actually took the wrong exit out of the station, so I added about a mile or so to my hike. When I arrived, I was sopping wet with sweat, which is unusual for me.

I had reduced the need for assuming extrovert behavior by accepting the host's invitation to arrive an hour and a half early to help him get ready. He was only just moving in with his roommate and didn't even have his bed assembled yet. Being there early meant that I could meet the men individually as they arrived. I ended up meeting about half of the men in this manner.

I did manage to let every man I fooled around with know that I had HIV, which was a little difficult, but I did it. Nobody pulled away from me.

Exhausted.

Fatigue is a common problem in people with HIV, and I can attest to that.

I did a lot last night -- hiking through Anacostia, helping to make the condo presentable by cleaning out a cooler, assisting with moving boxes and setting up a queen-sized bed, sex, getting home at about 2 am, more sex, waking up at 8:15 am, then sleeping until noon. Plus, I slept kind of fitfully; I'm not used to sharing my bed overnight with a strange body.

So I should be feeling a little run down today, but when I'm completely wiped out by walking a block to the local deli for lunch and walking a block back, that's something I need to discuss with my doctor.

I suppose it's time for a lifestyle change -- more sleep, better diet, maybe some vitamin supplements, although I detest taking pills now. Hopefully, my last round of tests will give me an indication of my platelet count -- one of my meds can cause anemia.

I'm only 36, and one night of play shouldn't wring me out like this.

[livejournal.com profile] popicn ran an astrological chart for me this morning, using the time and location of my birth from my birth certificate. I'll post pieces of it from time to time, along with my reaction.

Rising Sign is in 03 Degrees Scorpio
You tend to be quiet, reserved, secretive and, at times, quite difficult to understand. Others notice your deep emotions and feelings and wonder how to draw you out. Stubborn and tough, you fight for any position you believe in. You are very resourceful and formidable when you become angered or upset about something. You enjoy living life at the cutting edge -- for you life must be experienced intensely and totally. Quite courageous, you are willing to take calculated risks. Easily hurt by others, you often strike back with bitter sarcasm. Sensitive and curious, you are concerned with the deeper mysteries of human psychology. Once you have become interested in any subject, you pursue it with total fanaticism.
