I'll try to catch up the past few days, starting with Saturday, which was the date of the murder mystery party where I was one of the suspects.

The setting was a fund-raiser for Senator Arthur Gagger. Shortly before the Senator was to make his appearance, his intern, Dolly Lupino, discovered his body in the study.

Suspects in the murder were:
  • Dolly Lupino, the Senator's intern

  • Nancy Gagger, his wife

  • Jorge Arbusto Gagger, his dim-witted son

  • Dixie Chainlink, Chief of Staff

  • Phoebe Slanders, reporter from Fox News

  • Representative Dennis Carpenter, running against the Senator for his Senate seat (played by me!)

As it happens, I (that is, Dennis Carpenter) didn't do it. Jorge, who wasn't the Senator's son after all, poisoned him, so he was already dead when Phoebe Slanders shot him with a sniper rifle (she was trained in the terrorist camps of the Al Dente resistance). Shades of Gosford Park!

Afterwards, a birthday cake was brought out for Steve, my old boss, but I hustled out of there, because the party was supposed to get underway at 7 pm and last for two hours, so of course we were finished by 11 pm. I headed out to Rob and Mike's house, who had offered to put me up for the night.

Sunday I hung out at their place for most of the day. They left to meet some new friends in the afternoon and Russell called me shortly thereafter to ask if I wanted to join him for dinner near the Friendship Heights metro station. However, it took me so long to get there (I didn't realize that it was at the other end of the red line) that we didn't have much time for anything but drinks at the Borders cafe. Still, it was nice to visit with him again.

I returned home Monday morning and ran to the pharmacy to pick up my Reyataz prescription. The one blight on the weekend was that I forgot that the pharmacy closes at 1 pm on Saturday, so I had to miss Sunday's dose of Reyataz. What's more, I was so tired after getting in after the party on Saturday that I forgot my evening dose of Combivir.

It's upsetting to be 100% compliant with my regimen for so many months and now to miss three doses of medication within a month: a missed a combivir a few weeks ago, and now I missed a combivir and a reyataz. I've got to keep on track.
