Came home from work this evening, coming through the door about 6 pm. I've got laundry to do before I move into Rob and Mike's house tomorrow for the rest of the month, but I was feeling a little worn out from the weekend, so I laid down "just for a minute or two."
Bam. It's 8 pm and it's too late to go to the laundromat, so I'll have to pack dirty clothes and wash them at their place. Not that they would mind if I ran around nude, I'm sure. ;-)
Sunday night, I had dinner and saw I, Robot with Russell, Michael and Ed, who has just returned from several weeks in Romania. The story didn't completely trash Asimov's robot mythos, for which I'm grateful, but the acting and writing just weren't there for me. Sadly, it's far easier these days to have stellar CGI than it is to have an actual movie.
The plan was for Russell and I to ride with Michael to the Anne Arundel Mills mall/theme park/small city and meet Ed there for dinner before the movie. Once we arrive, Michael announces that he's not really interested in the movie, he just wants to have dinner with Ed and us. He'll leave after dinner, then return to pick us up after the movie ends.
If I had bee apprised of this arrangement ahead of time, I probably would have declined, because I don't like to impose that way, but since I didn't get a vote and I was already at the mall, I relaxed and accepted it. It was nice of Michael to go to that trouble for us.
Russell blew his top and dressed Michael down right there in the mall and sulked for about half an hour. Actually, he sulked ahead of time too, prompting Michael and Ed to ask me what was wrong with him.
He's a child of an alcoholic, and even though he's 53 years old and has been in therapy for most of his life, he's still got hot buttons. I'm surprised that Michael returned for us.
