A movie and a dinner
Aug. 23rd, 2004 11:54 amI already mentioned that EGN picked me up at Rob and Mike's home for the HIV social Saturday night. I forgot to mention that one of the first things he said to me was, "what's this about you not taking your meds?" Heh. I was wondering if anybody was paying attention to my ramblings. :-)
My application to the Lambda Sci Fi Yahoo! group was approved, and I confirmed that yes, they were going to the same show of Donnie Darko that I was, so I was on the lookout for them when I showed up at the theatre. As I arrived, there was one guy standing in the shade of a tree, obviously waiting, but the biggest clue was that he was reading a book. :-) I introduced myself after I had purchased my ticket, and the two of us chatted about books and movies as more guys showed up, until we had a group of six and went inside to see the show.
I have to make a slight departure here. We all free associate, all the time. A piece of music, a word, a scent will trigger a memory -- which will fire additional neurons that trigger additional memories. Now that I have HIV, it's been added to my neural net, and it gets triggered more often than I would have believed.( More here )
Anyway, the movie was indeed very cool, as many of my friends had said. I'm curious about what's been added to the director's cut of the film. It's supposed to be twenty minutes longer.
I got home in time to just miss a visit by Brian and Kent, who were out walking and wanted to see if the dogs and me wanted to join them. I'm sorry I missed them, because I don't think that I can handle both dogs by myself and dogs need a walk every now and again.
They did call me up when they got back from their walk to invite me over for dinner with them and Ed, who I met at the massage exchange last month. I didn't recognize him at first since he wasn't lying nekkid on a massage table, gleaming with oil. :-) We had a nice chicken curry with vegetables, watched some Canadian television and then watched the South Park movie. Then Brian shuttled me home. A nice, relaxing evening.
