Monday my boss was out of town, so I stayed home. I had some changes to another project requested by that client, but after reviewing them I decided that I needed to consult with my boss. I did get some stuff done, but most of the changes were a lot more involved than the client realized.

Monday evening I joined some friends at Mr. Henry's for half-price burger night, then trooped over to the Cherry Hill campground for C1 dancing, called by Ett McAtee. We had over three squares of dancers, which was great. Unfortunately, some of them need a bit more work at C1. It's always frustrating how my own dancing skill takes a dive when someone's in the square that doesn't know their place. It's not just me; it's as if the total dancing skill of the group is averaged out, and we all make mistakes, because a lot of square dancing, especially at the higher levels, is about formation awareness. If someone's not in the right place, it makes it harder to keep up.

I may say that it's frustrating, but that doesn't mean we didn't have a good time, although it's sometimes hard to keep a fun attitude when someone else constantly makes excuses for their mistakes, sometimes making it hard to hear the next call.
I had my phone turned off Tuesday morning and slept in, finally meeting the boss at Tryst in Adam's Morgan with Steve, the previous owner of my old company, who is an old high school buddy of Robyn, and Chris, Robyn's brother. Robyn made some decisions on how to approach the client's requests and I happily got to work. I still needed his help at several points, because the woman who coded the site, Megan, made some interesting design choices and I'm finding it very hard to figure out what she was doing.
Tuesday evening was more dancing back in Baltimore with the Chesapeake Squares. Kent and Brian, who are training to be our club callers, gave me a lift back to Baltimore. I stopped over at my apartment to check the mail and pick up a few things, like my checkbook so I could pay my health insurance premium. Kent and Brian did some calling for the first time on stage, moving us around and trying to get back to a "zero box" or a "zero line", whatever those are. Dayle, our current caller and their teacher, praised their progress over the past three months.
DM left a message last night to confirm our date for tonight. I thought it was for tomorrow night, but I'm not going to quibble!
