I'm having a great morning!

On Friday, I managed to figure out a solution to the problem of automatically importing contacts into a temporary table. This problem has been vexing us literally for months. I did have a solution working, but it failed on their Windows server. I felt that this new solution would work for them, but since I wasn't in their office on Friday, I wasn't able to test it until this morning.

The solution failed, but in such a way that I had some avenues for addressing its shortcomings. After about an hour of tinkering, I was able to demonstrate the success of the technique to the client. Yay!

I called Robyn to report my success. He was very pleased, and told me that he had received a check from this client on Friday, so he and I are meeting this afternoon so he can give me a check! Yay again!

I'm walking tall today -- literally, because I have a square dance tonight, so I'm strutting through the office in my boots and sporting my western belt buckle and blue jeans. :-)

It just occurred to me this morning that I might get some questions about my ass during the naked square dancing hour this weekend, unless the marks have faded by then. :-)

As I write this, I'm on the MARC commuter train scheduled to leave Union Station at 4:49 pm and arrive in Baltimore at 6 pm.

The train left at 5:36 pm. We've just arrived at the Seabrook station, fifty-two minutes late.

I was going to go dancing tonight at Ett's club after missing both dates in the past month, but Kirk called me and asked me to help him put his bedroom back together. From what I gather, he had to move stuff out of his bedroom in order for workers to replace part of the central air system in his apartment.

Now I won't be arriving at home until somewhere around 7 pm to drop off my things and get out of my boots before heading up to his apartment. It's going to be a long night.

The big delay seemed to be an incoming Amtrak train that stalled where it was being switched across all three tracks coming into the station, blocking all traffic in or out. We were originally scheduled to leave about ten minutes late, but the delay dragged on.

These disruptions will continue until November 19, when the track work is scheduled to be complete. If the work goes over, then the delays will continue.

As I sit here, my ass feels just a little warmer than usual, thanks to my session yesterday. It's not painful, but it's a noticeable reminder.
