Hello! Italy calling!

While my boss is in Italy, I'm continuing to work on a few projects. Today, Robyn and I caught up to date with each other via iChat's audio conferencing. I must say that being able to speak to my boss over the Internet while he's in Italy is very, very cool. I offered to send him a video stream as well, but he declined. It's just as well; he doesn't need to see me sitting in my bathrobe. :-)

If I had more time for such things, I'd sign up for iChatGay, a site that acts as a directory for gay guys to connect with each other using iChat and AIM's audio and video conferencing.

Contemplating possessions

Not much done today, just a conference with my boss and some laundry, with square dancing in the evening. I got a peppermint hot chocolate on the way home, and now I'm beginning to think about what to pack for my week in Florida with my parents.

Whenever I travel, I'm always struck by how very little I need to take with me. There's always a sense of relief at even temporarily escaping all of the things that I own. Which is surprising, because I don't really own all that much. Everything fits pretty comfortably in this little apartment.

I often consider ditching more of my stuff. Getting rid of the television and the curio cabinet that my parents gave me, for instance. Maybe getting rid of the full-sized bed in favor of a futon or a twin bed, and rolling out the air mattress when I have a guest. I feel this urge to discard everything sometimes.
