Sunday was the day of Doug M.'s annual Leather Brunch, which coincides with the Mid-Atlantic Leather weekend in DC.

I dicked around on the computer after waking up, necessitating a last-minute rush to gather everything I needed for the day before sprinting to the train station. As I was pulling on my sweat shirt, my eyeglasses fell apart. The screw in one of the frames had worked itself loose. With no time to find my eyeglass repair kit, I scooped up the pieces and ran for the train.

Upon arriving in Union Station, I was able to purchase a repair kit and got my eyeglasses working again. Going without my eyeglasses for over an hour was pretty interesting. Since I was unable to focus on anything, I didn't even try, walking through the station with an unfocused stare, taking everything in as best I could. I would so love to be able to ditch the glasses -- I love the wider field of vision even when it's not in focus.

On the trip to DC, I had called Bob S. to arrange to meet him at his apartment so I could return his shirt and socks that I had borrowed from him Friday morning and then gratefully accepted his offer of a ride to Doug's house.

Bob and I got to the brunch a little before noon, I think, and the place was already packed. When Doug has a party, everybody's invited! It was standing room only. I had a great time talking to the men I knew, and I managed to man-handle a few of them, of course. I'm happiest when I'm with a group of friends who tolerate my caresses. :-)

But such a big group tires me out. I often retreated to a chair to be by myself, even with some guy standing right in front of me with his ass practically in my face. It was enough not to have to interact just for a few moments.

I left the brunch with Steven S., and the two of us went down to the Washington Plaza hotel where MAL was being hosted to wander around the vendor tables. I tried on a nice black flightsuit, a latex vest, and some neoprene pants, garnering compliments from Steven. We ran into Bob R. and Ted as I was parading around in the neoprene and got nice remarks from the two of them as well. I didn't buy anything, however.

My energy started to crash as we were leaving the hotel, so I asked Steven to drive me to Union Station, where I immediately joined the queue for the next train to Baltimore. I was home by 5 p.m. and tumbled into bed.

frogprince[livejournal.com profile] kenny73 left me a card as he was passing back through Baltimore on his way home last week, telling me that he had left a gift for me at the Belvedere Florist shop on Charles Street. Belvedere Florist is open from 9 to 5 each weekday, which made it a little difficult to go claim my gift. Fortunately, the shop was open today, so here it is -- a frog prince glass sculpture! Yay!

I'm gathering my things to head into DC again tonight for the heart circle in Silver Spring. This will be my last one for the foreseeable future, because the heart circle is usually held on a Wednesday evening and I'm starting a C2 square dance class that will meet every Wednesday starting January 26.

So tonight, whatever else I will be sharing, I'll speak of how much I look forward to meeting these men each month just to be present for each other. It's a very comforting thing, to have someone just listen, and sometimes just being able to articulate what the concern is helps to put it in perspective. I always get great hugs there too. :-)

I hope that there will be dates that the class won't be meeting that will coincide with the heart circle meetings from time to time. That would be nice.

I tell you, if I had a compatible iPod, I'd love to have one of these things. Its a boom box with a docking port for the iPod. It also has an FM tuner and will charge the iPod when it's plugged into AC power.
