Tuesday was the free movie night at the Charles Theatre, sponsored by the Baltimore City Paper. Kirk joined me for a view of House of Flying Daggers, which was pretty darn cool. All the reviewers have been commenting on how beautiful the film is, and it's been nominated for an Oscar for Best Cinematography.

The audience was a little annoying, laughing at all the wrong places. I can understand it because the plot's a little over the top -- if you regard it as just a movie plot. However, at some point I realized that the story was more reminiscent of a legend or a myth. Taken on those terms, it wasn't very amusing at all.

Kirk brought along one of his neighbors, a very cute man named Shelton. At least, I think that's his name. I distinctly heard the 't' rather than a 'd' so Shelton, not Sheldon. Whatever, he's cute. He used to live in New York City, where he did some acting. He works at a Whole Foods someplace. He implied there are "pictures" of him floating around on the Internet. :-)

He was Kirk's guest, so I didn't flirt with him. Much. I'm sort of unable to completely restrain myself. After the movie, the three of us walked a short distance in the cold until it was time for us to part ways. Me for my home and they for theirs. I reached out to shake Shelton's hand and told him I looked forward to seeing him again sometime.

"Definitely," he replied, smiling as he clasped my hand in both of his for just a moment before turning away.

He's been in my thoughts quite a bit since then.

Wednesday was the first night of the C2 class that Ett is teaching. We learned five calls: Rotary (anything), Criss-Cross the Shadow, Here Comes the Judge, Sock It To Me and Alter and Circulate.

I managed to put the definitions for those calls on the Palm Vx that [livejournal.com profile] todc handed down to me and studied them quickly on the trip, so I didn't have any trouble at all with them. I found the entire class to be pretty relaxing, in fact. I felt like an angel, not a student.

This C2 stuff might be okay after all. :-)

My boss and I often work together at the CYBERStop on 17th Street in Washington, DC. Until we get new office space, we just camp out there, buying drinks and snacks. They have a floor upstairs with some computers that they rent by the hour and other tables where folks with their laptops can surf the wireless network.

Yesterday, a guy came up the second floor to sit down at one of the rented computers. I had seen him before and I think he's rather attractive. I looked up as he entered, then returned to my work (everybody always checks out the person entering the room -- it's like sunflowers following the sun).

A few minutes later, I noticed that he was reaching down to stroke his cock through his pants every once in a while as he typed. From the typing patterns, I assumed that he was instant messaging someone and that their conversation was a bit randy.

I wanted to walk over and quietly offer to help him out, but I restrained myself again. I did catch his eye more than once and gave him a little smile. I'd have been bolder if my boss wasn't sitting over my shoulder.

This guy's been in my thoughts quite a bit too. :-)

Bleah.

I signed up on ichatgay.com and ichatters.com, but I'm finding that I'm really not that interested in video chats with strangers. I had signed up with ichatgay.com shortly after Apple released iChat AV, but I let it lapse then too.

I suppose that I just prefer to do my socializing away from the computer. I enjoy keeping in touch with my friends through email and our journals, but online has never been the place where I'm comfortable meeting people.

This time I created a new AIM screen name before signing up, so I can just forget it. :-)
