Let's see...

After work on Thursday, I met Doug M. and went back to his place for some work with his computer. We got a lot accomplished:
  • reset the administrator password on his Mac, because he forgot the old one
  • got his new Treo 650 to synchronize with his Mac
  • Upgraded and re-registered his screen saver
  • signed up for Verizon's $14.95/mo DSL plan
  • got his iPod to synchronize to his computer again
  • instructed him on how to get dirty pictures out of his webmail and into iPhoto
  • er, if there's anything else, I've forgotten it
I stayed the night with Doug and worked in DC Friday, sitting in at my old office while my boss worked from home. Still no word on how the talks are progressing. After work, I hooked up with Eric in Silver Spring to spend the rest of the weekend with him.

Friday night, he made some dinner and we watched The Woodsman, which starred Kevin Bacon. Wow, did he put in a fine performance! I'm sorry that I didn't see this film in the theatre!

We slept in Saturday, then drove to Baltimore to wander around the Inner Harbor. If we had actually planned this weekend instead of just doing whatever felt like fun at the moment, we might have been there to cheer [livejournal.com profile] mai_neh on, but no.

We were planning to go out Saturday evening, but stayed home instead to watch Trick, which he had never seen, to my astonishment. That film is like a train wreck, the way you want to scream at the screen, "just fuck already!" ...but in a good way. :-)

He works on Sundays, so I was left to my own devices, although we did put in a trip to Ikea during his lunch break. Sunday night we watched Torch Song Trilogy after going out for some deep-dish Chicago-style pizza — very yummy!

During the weekend, we also connected his DVD player and VCR to his tuner, so he gets the sound coming through the stereo speakers. He was missing some speakers from his move, so we haven't installed the surround sound yet.

Slept over again Sunday night, but had to get up at 6:30 a.m. to get ready to commute back to Baltimore to be online by 9 a.m. Bleah. Put in a good day at work, signed off, then schlepped uptown to help Kirk with his stereo system. Then tried to help Russell with his laptop, but the poor thing gave up the ghost while I was ministering to it. I'm going to try backing up his files and reinstalling the OS, which is an indication of how far gone it is — you almost never have to reinstall Mac OS X.

I made more soup for supper tonight, adding onions and carrots. It's not going to win any awards, but it's a simple meal. I needed some crusty bread to go with it.
