Complications
Nov. 21st, 2005 08:23 amMy boss and I are working at a client's office in Herndon, VA today. Actually, we were supposed to be working there Friday, but the client didn't make arrangements in time, so we pushed it back to today.
So here's the rub: when I was packing for my house-sitting weekend Thursday evening, we were still planning on working in Herndon on Friday. I was planning to be back home this morning after catching an early train from DC, so I didn't pack any medication for today.
To remedy this, I contacted Russell over the weekend and he agreed to stop by my apartment to pick up my meds and meet me at Union Station this morning so I could still make my rendezvous with Robyn at the Vienna metro station at 9:30 a.m.
Unfortunately, Russell contacted me to say that he had overslept and would be an hour late getting to DC, so I'm going to be about thirty minutes late reaching Vienna.
A further complication is that this is a rush job. We have to complete it today. It would have been nice to have been working on it Friday and had today to fall back on, but now we must finish everything today.
