Sticker shock
Well, it looks like I got my new insurance plan just in time.
I went to pick up my prescription refills from the pharmacy this evening and found that the bill was over $250 instead of $60. I returned home without the medications and made a few phone calls.
It turns out that my previous plan was cancelled at the end of October because my COBRA benefits expired. Now I have to try to get a refund out of my previous employer, because I gave them a check for November. I called them up and they'll check on it.
The good news is that this refill will satisfy the deductible for my new prescription plan, but the co-pay for my meds will be $25 each instead of $20 from now on. Still, much better than paying the full price!
