Apple now offers over forty television episodes on the iTunes Music Store, including "South Park" from Comedy Central. They keep adding more programming. It's very cool watching it accumulate.

Of course, the era of Internet Television has been creeping up on us for a while. ABC offers a version of their "World News Tonight" online on Broadcast Plus as well as expanded interviews and such. Comedy Central has their MotherLoad. There's Google Video (I love Matrix Ping-Pong). CNN has stuff, as does the Washington Post and the New York Times. Comcast has video offerings as well. Then there's video podcasts, lots of them.

Russell and I have started this routine where we get together Saturday evenings to watch the latest episode of Battlestar Galactica. I'm downloading the latest episode as I write this. I'll hook up my laptop to the television and the stereo and we'll have some dinner or munch popcorn.

I bet the cable companies are very concerned about these developments. I think that a many people watch a lot of television and expanded cable programming is a good deal for them, but the only premium show I want to watch is BSG, so I just have the $10 basic cable. I'm still planning to cancel that and switch over to DSL instead of paying $45 for my internet account. Comcast won't like that.
