The universe is on my side
Jan. 31st, 2006 06:04 pmIt's the end of the month, and it's time for me to refill my prescriptions for my HIV medications. Over the past few months, I've been fairly lackadaisical about this, knowing that since I was working from home I could dart over to the pharmacy and fill them at almost the last minute.
Now, I'm working ninety minutes away, at best, so I planned to fill them over the weekend. The pharmacy is only open on Saturday and only until 1 p.m.
I failed to fill my prescriptions on Saturday, and one of my meds runs out tonight.
I figured I'd see if they could deliver to my office address. I called Monday, but I didn't have the prescription numbers. I also forgot to order them via the automated phone system or the web site last night. I also forgot to bring the prescription numbers to work with me today.
So today I had decided that I would call tomorrow to see if they would deliver to the office and if they wouldn't I would take that afternoon off to get them filled personally.
Then my boss came by a little before 4:00 p.m. and announced that he was leaving for the day in five minutes. He offered me a ride to the train station if I wanted to leave with him.
So I made an earlier train, speed-walked back home, picked up the pill bottles, speed-walked over to the pharmacy and got my prescriptions filled. Yay! This was another one of my magic moments for certain.
Of course, I still had to pay the nasty deductible for the new year and I'll have to deal with another new plan next month, but I know that these things will all work out too. Most things do.
