Dancing, no sleeping
Feb. 3rd, 2006 09:12 amI attended the Offsets C2 club last night with Barry and Michael. It was the first time I've danced C2 in about three months, and I was rather pleased with my performance, all things considered. Of course, I was rusty, but Barry and I were usually in strong squares that could quickly point us in the right direction. I also know to pick out my counterparts in other squares and watch what they're doing and to keep an eye on my opposite as well.
We did have one bad square, but this was because we ended up with seven dancers from the recent C2 class and we all foundered horribly. We didn't complete one sequence. If that ever happens again, I'm going to see if Ett will let us move to the next entry on the dance cards to shake things up or ask other dancers to switch with us. It's no fun having all the students together.
Dancing was over about 10 p.m. and Barry dropped me off at home a little after 10:30. I should have gone to bed immediately — immediately — but I didn't. I ended up going to bed about 1 a.m., which means that I expect this afternoon to be awful.
Despite staying up late, I didn't pack a lunch for today, which isn't that big a deal because Fridays are "bagel day" — several varieties of bagels and cream cheeses are spread out in the kitchen. Today they have muffins as well. I've already had a bagel this morning; I might have another for lunch or dip into my supplies (I have a drawer that I've stocked with cheap snacks and such) and have a cup of soup.
