My co-workers are doing me no favors by leaving Krispy Kreme doughnuts and Munchkins from Dunkin' Donuts in the lunch room.

One of the programs that comes with the Macintosh operating system is Stickies, which creates little windows that look like Post-It notes where you can stick graphics or snippets of text.

Here are some of my stickies:
  • "I have as much authority as the pope, I just don't have as many people who believe it" — George Carlin
  • "Change your thoughts, and you change your world" — Norman Vincent Peale
  • "He chose to be rich by making his wants few, and supplying them himself" — Ralph Waldo Emerson, speaking of Henry David Thoreau
  • "We are not compelled to meditate by some outside agent, by other people, or by God. Rather, just as we are responsible for our own suffering, so are we solely responsible for our own cure. We have created the situation in which we find ourselves, and it is up to us to create the circumstances for our release." — Lama Thubten Yeshe, "Wisdom Energy"
  • "For T.H. Huxley, who coined the term in 1869, agnosticism was as demanding as any moral, philosophical, or religious creed. Rather than a creed, though, he saw it as a method realized through 'the rigorous application of a single principle.' He expressed this principle positively as: 'Follow your reason as far as it will take you,' and negatively as: 'Do not pretend that conclusions are certain which are not demonstrated or demonstrable.' This principle runs throught the Western tradition: from Socrates, via the Reformation and the Enlightenment, to the axioms of modern science. Huxley called it the 'agnostic faith.'"
  • "...failing in love isn't the same as not loving. It doesn't let you off the hook. It doesn't mean you're free to not love." — Angels in America
  • "We cannot learn from one another until we stop shouting at one another — until we speak quietly enough so that our words can be heard as well as our voices — Richard Nixon
  • Harboring resentment is like taking poison and expecting the other guy to die.
  • "Generosity is giving more than you can, and pride is taking less than you need." — Kahlil Gibran
  • There came a time when the risk to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.  — Anaïs Nin
  • A real friend isn't someone you use once and then throw away. A real friend is someone you can use over and over again.
  • Fortune and love befriend the bold. — Ovid
  • Gods don't kill people. People with gods kill people
