I'm the one your torch singer warned you about

This happened after I broke up with Russell, too.

From Wikipedia:

A torch song is a sentimental love song, typically one in which the singer laments an unrequited or lost love, where one party is either oblivious to the existence of the other, or where one party has moved on.

When I listen to sad love songs, I feel like they're singing to me. As in, "why did you leave me, I still love you so much." I imagine that most other folks identify with the singer instead, but I've never had that experience.

Maybe I should warn all future prospective lovers. "You know all of those torch songs? I'm the one they're singing about." :-/
