Nov. 14th, 2015 11:42 pmThis evening has been perfect.
After the MAKK meeting, i drove Master back to His condo in DC, where He collected a few boxes of His papers and i took a short nap. Then we drove back to Baltimore, making conversation and listening to the soundtrack to Amistad.
When we arrived at my condo, the goddess Asphalta smiled upon us -- another car was pulling out of a parking spot directly in front of my building. This was very lucky, as there is precious little parking to be had in my neighborhood on a Saturday night.
While Master bathed, i prepared a light supper. Chicken salad with celery and jicama, served with saltine crackers and sliced cucumber. i brushed the cucumber with a little red wine vinegar, which i thought was a nice touch. As i prepared the plates, i felt that i really knew how to cook, that i could take unexpected ingredients (Master picked up the jicama root out of the blue) and toss them into a recipe.
Master is in the habit of watching a film during supper. Tonight, i selected Amelie, which i remembered enjoying a great deal when i saw it years ago. Master and i laughed throughout the film, and it gave me an extra glow of pleasure to see how much Master enjoyed it.
My life is perfect. That's not true, of course, but i feel as though it is, and that's the important thing.
