Things are looking up!
Jul. 15th, 2004 09:51 amI received the results from my recent blood work this morning, and they are encouraging. My viral load stands at 143, down from 575 two months ago. Our goal is for my viral load to be 'undetectable' which means less than 50 copies of the virus in a milliliter of blood. Perhaps when I return in two months for my next test, I'll have achieved that.
My T-cells have risen to 235 from 192 last time, and the percentage of T-cells in my blood is now 20.4.
So my numbers continue to improve after a little blip back in March, when my viral load rose to about 4,500 after being reduced below 200. I was close to undetectable then, too. :-/
I also spoke to my doctor about my tiredness, and he agreed that I can begin sleeping better and getting more exercise. We talked about my knee for a bit; he speculated that I might have torn a ligament during my roller-skating tumble, and that it may have scarred during healing, which makes the ligament tighter. The good news is that regular exercise can help to stretch it back out again. He recommended exercise that didn't put a lot of extra weight on the knee.
My next appointment for blood work is in September, two months from now.
