I just got back from my errands this morning. My viral load dropped from 143 to 117 over the past two months. I was really, really hoping for an undetectable viral load, but this is progress, even if it is incremental. My T-cells rose from 235 to 250, and the percentage of T-cells in my blood held steady at about 20 percent. Dr. Westrick said that he doesn't know why the regimen that I'm on hasn't forced my viral load into the undetectable range by now, but it's under control and that's what really matters. What's a hundred viral copies between friends?
I had Dr. Westrick weigh me, and I've actually gained two pounds since my last appointment, so any worries about my weight were over nothing. Yes, I told him about my missed pills; he agreed that they weren't going to cause any problems.
I have an appointment for blood work in December, which is three months away. The last interval was two months, and I was pretty eager for my status at the end of that period. I'm going to be very eager at the end of three months!
After leaving his office, I went downtown to pick up my new eyeglasses. The good news is that I picked something that looks good, despite getting progressively more blind as the dilation drops kicked in. I'm pleased with the look. The bad news is that the left lens was about ten degrees off axis, which screwed up my vision, so they have to go back to be adjusted. Maybe I can pick them up on Saturday.
Robyn told me to work from home today, because at this point, what with commuting and lunch (gotta take those pills!) I wouldn't be able to start working until 1 pm.
