Weekend plans and whatever
Apr. 28th, 2005 11:40 pmI'm taking the day off tomorrow to ride down to Rehoboth Beach with Barry H. for Chesapeake Squares' annual fly-in, Pass the Ocean, Hon! We'll be leaving bright and early tomorrow morning. Well, early, anyway.
I had to fill my prescriptions today because what I had left would have run out on Saturday, so I phoned them into the pharmacy's automatic system, which was smart enough to know that my prescriptions had expired. It's smarter than I am — I didn't know that. I'm thankful that the pharmacist was able to contact my doctor and get the prescriptions extended. I was a little anxious at the prospect of not having my pills.
About a year after I moved to Baltimore from Jacksonville, Florida in 1990, my friend Dennis moved up here as well. He had visited me for a couple of days and then decided that he needed to make the move.
He stayed with me in my one-bedroom apartment for about seven months, sleeping in the corner of my living room. Because I wasn't charging him rent (a. the idea was for him to save money to get his own place, and b. he was sleeping on the floor), he cooked for us and kept the bathroom, living room and kitchen cleaned up. I refused to let him clean my bedroom. :-)
Anyway, Dennis took me shopping at the outdoor store at the Arundel Mills shopping center. I bought a sleeping bag and some other odds and ends. We had the most fun commenting on the pretty boys working and shopping in the store and in the mall. Dennis was a little uptight when he first left Jacksonville. In fact, when he farted, only dogs could hear it. Now he's crude and lecherous. It's an improvement. :-)
I found a technique for calculating running totals using an SQL query. I'm looking forward to demonstrating it for Robyn on Monday. He's always impressed with these things. I wonder if he spends any time stretching his understanding of the software that we use.
