I finally got to see the Battlestar Galactica mini series last night. Louis K. has a pal that gave him copies of the mini series and all of the episodes on a collection of DVDs and Louis loaned them to me. Next is to catch up on the episodes that I've missed.

I just got off the phone with Russell. He called at 9 a.m. to ask about keyboard shortcuts in OS X. This was one of those lucky moments for me because I was fast asleep instead of at my desk, which is where I should be at 9 a.m. He coincidentally kept me from over sleeping. :-)

I keep my alarm clock several feet from my bed, ensuring that I have to get up to silence it. The theory is that this will force me into a wakeful state and I won't sleep in. Fat chance. I'm perfectly capable of getting up, hitting the snooze bar and getting back to sleep, sometimes even picking up the same dream. I'll do this a few times every morning.

I remember the alarm going off at least once this morning. Instead of hitting the snooze bar, I just switched the bugger off.

Bah.

Yay for gay marriage and all that, but I'm looking forward to the day when I can watch a tender kissy-face scene between two men on a prime-time drama.

I'm watching the ninth episode of BSG, and two characters are smooching on each other while staring at the stars. How sweet is that?

Blatent heterosexuality. I wish they'd stop flaunting it like that.

The Washington Post has an article on the spread of black squirrels in the area. I found this image to be rather amusing:
Flyger devoted himself to studying squirrels because, as he explains it, they weigh less than a deer and don't bite like a polar bear. He used to smear a tree behind his Silver Spring home with a mixture of peanut butter and Valium and then tattoo the squirrels that he found passed out below.

I just stepped out of my apartment to check my mail. (It's the only time today that I stepped out of my apartment, and I still didn't leave the building.) The only piece is a statement from American Express. "Geez! I cancelled this three months ago," I thought. "Why are they sending me another statement?"

Well, it turns out that the Rehoboth hotel where I had reserved a room for my square dancing weekend refunded my room deposit that I made in May 2004, so I've got an unanticipated $113.32 to my name. Whee!

Now I have to contact Amex and ask them to send me a check, because I've already destroyed the card.

The boss is sending me another paycheck too. This one should be about $1,400.

Finally, as soon as Russell collects his tax refund, he's finally going to pay for this cabinet that I'm selling him for $600. That will come in handy as well as freeing up a little bit of space in here.
