In my dreams

I dreamed that mai_neh and I had somehow seduced a younger, tanned, lean, vigorous Pope John Paul II. The three of us were lying in bed naked, and we were taking turns playfully darting our fingers in to tweak his nipples while he laughed and tried to defend himself. Everything was a new experience for him, and he was delighted.

Whew!

I'm heading up to New York City for the weekend. Doug M. is turning forty, and to celebrate, he purchased tickets to see Jane Siberry on Saturday.

I'll be leaving work a little early to catch a Greyhound bus from New Carrollton tomorrow evening, so tonight I've been packing up something for dinner on the bus. I've settled on one of the leftover chicken breasts sliced up into finger-friendly pieces, some of my mom's potato salad, carrot sticks, crackers and some cookies.

I also made a double pot of chili and packed it up. I'll have some for lunch tomorrow and I'm freezing the rest for later. Sitting down to write this entry is the first time I've been off my feet since I got home, what with running to the grocery store and then cooking the potato salad and the chili. I still have to go back to wash up.

I had asked john_nyc if I could stay at their place over the weekend. He agreed, but warned me that he wouldn't be available that much and that they already had friends visiting. So when deege offered his guest bedroom, I gladly accepted.

Doug's original plan was to rent a hotel room for the group, but he's still dealing with his dad's death, so he hasn't pursued that. In fact, he still has tickets available for the concert if anybody wants to see Jane perform.

Doug intended this to be a fundraiser for the two Body Electric sanctuaries, Wildwood and Easton Mountain. The idea was that we would make donations instead of paying him for the tickets. Unfortunately, he's probably going to end up with extra tickets because his heart hasn't been in it.

The rest of my evening is going to be cleaning up the kitchen and then packing for my trip.
